The Walk for Hunger is Food Bank of the Albemarle‘s annual fund raising event. “Held the second weekend in October, the event entails a 4.1 K walk…Food Bank of the Albemarle relies on the generosity, enthusiasm and participation of local communities, churches, businesses, organizations and individuals to help raise the money necessary to fight hunger in northeast North Carolina during this annual event.” (“2017 Walk for Hunger.” Food Bank of the Albemarle, Feeding America, 9 Oct. 2017, afoodbank.org/events/walk-for-hunger-october/)
As a Junior Docent volunteer, I help out with any events at my local museum I can get to. This particular event, I assisted with the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is my favorite part of this event. Not only do the local residents get to show off their artistry, but they also get to take the pumpkins home for free!
My favorite season is Autumn, so I had such a great time taking pictures of the pumpkins and the beautiful day despite the fact it was in the high 70s F!
I painted my own pumpkin while I was there. I decided to go with Kai from Lego Ninjago because not only is he my favorite character from the show, but also because it was a simple design to paint. This is the first pumpkin I was truly proud of!
Leave a like and comment to let me know what you decided to do for your pumpkin this year! Happy Autumn! ❤
